Charlie Kennedy has spent the last four years avidly staying away from home. After leaving the UK in 2008, Charlie tried living the high life in the UAE as a journalist but eventually realized that journalism became a lot less fun when advertising and persistent PR's got in the way. So she declared a quarter-life crisis and packed her life into a rucksack, setting off around the world for a year with a notepad, gathering story ideas along the way. Charlie flew back to England to find an email telling her she'd been accepted on the MFA in Writing at USF, where she is now happily pursuing long fiction. She misses her rucksack from time to time. She does not miss communal bathrooms.
