gather. I remember

Annie Rovzar

gather. I remember

against the bare paper.

sometimes to see her—

reader, what I had said

to myself before falling

asleep: because the known

and the unknown touch,

we live in the narrows

of time and difference

which converge in

a center of light,

visions of others

beneath our skin.

we wake

at the threshold

of meaning

which dissolves

our incredible need of it.
