Cherry Muhanji

There is the rhythm of the mother, the suppressed poet, and the worker. There is the rhythm of the first time college student at 46, the activist, and the budding prose writer. There is the dizzying rhythm of the creative doctorate from the University of Iowa that culminated in a ho-hum novel. But always, always there is the hum of the poet novelist, and short story writer.

Suddenly, there was the “stopped time” of the professor/ struggling to teach 6th graders in Kansas City, for $65.00 a day.

Now the rhythm moves through the Northwest where a creative/ critical piece on jazz is published--- and two novels in progress vie for attention from the south corner of my mind...
